You can always spot a DIY job. Someone broke the ring to fit a socket. Cool. Then someone else fitted a second socket. Being right next to each other, there's no reason to spur it - a single piece of 2.5mm is all that's needed to keep the ring intact.
But no. Instead of running from ring to A to B and back to ring, they broke the ring.
The single insulated cables outside the JB are also a huge giveaway that someone's been messing around. No competent electrician would do that.
