Mezhukkupuratti (something like meh-roo-koo-poo-rah-tee) is an everyday, simple Kerala recipe with few spices, often of beans or plantains. I just came across this recipe I saved eons ago with NO spices - generally there is at least turmeric and a little chilli. Often coconut too. This one is made with beans AND plantains.
It also speaks to the Keralite love of oil, either ghee or coconut oil.
As it says, the same sort of dish can be made with any cooked veg, really.
