OK, my new antenna is up after a couple of visits to the local hardware store. It seems to be working fine so far but I'm really looking forward to trying it out on 80m. It may not be the best there but hopefully it works as advertised.
And no wonder fighting the leverage to get the antenna up made me so tired, you can see it's bending this end of the mast over to a disconcerting degree. I plan to insert another length of bungee in there to ease that pull... Tomorrow.
