For example, in the American Southwest they imposed strict water regulations (can’t water lawn, etc) even if consumer water consumption is only ~15% of the overall water consumption for the region. That’s not fair to put the blame on individuals. It’s the same for gas stoves, state controlled thermostat, etc.
That said, who wants to live in a planet full of smog and 40C weather. Orange skies in NYC look pretty on your insta feed but are terrible for the population.
