So he is a character who reflects the shortcoming of having to rigidly advocate that kind of principle through & through. Good intentions can only get a person so far before getting the result they want out of & Vash is a perfect example.
I think he perfectly symbolize Anarcho-pacifism as a critique without outright explicitly saying it. Vash clearly advocate egalitarianism & pacifism to an extreme degree while him & his loved suffers from his deeply fixated promise he kept from his mother who passed away.
I'm not sure if you watch Trigun (OG Version), but is definitely my top 3 Anime.
