I won't use Signal. It's founder is aggressively evasive, and it gives me the heeby-jeebys. I strongly suspect its a honeypot and discourage its use.

As is matrix. Like I said, I value XMPP and its community (I'm even doing some work for them). But overall I find matrix apps have a better UX, especially for group chats.
