The queen of this colony is pushing 4 years old. She can live for over a decade so I think she has many great years left. Some Lasius queens have been documented living for 30+ years.
That was the fact that pushed me over the edge to try antkeeping I had to know more about insects that could live such long lives and form these complex societies.
