This page doesn't describe the principle replacement, of which it has a massive gap, the colonising of English and Scottish in Ulster didn't start in earnest until 1610 after the "Flight of the Earls" of O'Niell and O'Donnell. The Settling of these groups was specifically to wipe away the Gaelic identity of Ulster on account of it being the strongest centre of such. The relevant section of the article draws quotes in the context of the Nine-years war and it's lead-up.
