Ha! I uncovered a fireplace in my first flat and it was what you would describe as twiddly. However after much hard graft getting all the paint and over stuff removed the tiles were gorgeous and the metal work was good too. I renovated that fireplace and I loved it. I also got the chimney swept and each Christmas had a real fire. I still miss it to be honest.
