Your blog post was great.
Elite interests have been gradually enslaving the rest of us since about 1980. They would literally have us in shackles were it possible.
Instead, for the time being, they're settling for people living paycheck-to-paycheck. Workers obviously in this perpetually beaten down, stressed state are less likely to bite the hand that feeds them. Elites also perversely believe to their core that their wellbeing is contingent on others' poverty and suffering.
Remember this kind of structural violence, i.e. deliberately imposed poverty, has killed more people than all the wars throughout history combined. And structural violence always begets behavioural violence.
I'll finish this Toot by pointing out that the planet is warming 100 times faster today than it did during the largest mass extinction ever. And the warming is actually accelerating.
We're circling the drain at this point.
When things get really bad, specifically when food becomes scarce, elites will dispense with the facade that people are "free" and put the boot down. That is the principal reason they're militarising police forces.
And for those who say that the Dems will save us. No, the Dems are as much in the pocket of elite interests as the GOP. And when somebody is standing on your neck, it doesn't really matter whether it the left or right boot
