🌲Fæġer Mæġden🌲 (npub1g0u…3vfw) The human must not discard all the parts that make him whole. Rational thought is but a small part of the human, and all other aspects, disdainfully called irrational by virtue of their nature, are also necessary for the human to reach a balance with himself and his peers.
Ancient thought already understood this on a level that transcended rationality, by making it praxis rather than just theory. That was what stories, rites, tradition and other forms of culture were at their core, both the message and the action. Enter scientific method, and just as a kid with a hammer sees everything as a nail, the fools that called themselves rationalists thought it was a good idea to limit their lives and others' to the applicability of that tool.
Hopefully, just as we managed to get over the novelty of the new tool for each new discovery in the human history, we will be able to stop fetishizing rationality and appreciate it for what it is, just one of the traits that makes us humans, rather than the main one, let alone the only one.
