they also don't want to provide leftovers because they 'can't be held liable'-- that is definitely a very american thing I guess :P though usually they at least put part of that in the fridges as shift meals.
And I'm personally also guessing that's where the real issue is, people on shift complain there's "no food" when it's just the nice stuff like the meat leftovers in the fridges that runs out. It does not make sense to me to lock down the bread station over that; that never ran out.
