As usual, using protection of " the #FreeMarket " and " #Soviets " as talking points against a new law means the law is going to help the average citizen:

The actual mandate (https://www.ntia.gov/sites/default/files/publications/ntia_digital_discrimination_ex_parte_comment_10.6.23.pdf) is just giving the #FCC the mandate to eliminate the profit incentives that #ISP s have to be shitty. It grants the power to bring the internet to people who've not had it before because it was "unprofitable" for #ISPs to run the lines and build the towers and remove the predatory contract and pricing practices companies like Comcast are known for.

It's basically finally moving towards making the #internet a #utility with similar requirements for the providers. Don't be fooled by those who say this is "government overreach;" it's absolutely based in previous precedent and good for the people.
