This is what the Coinbase E-Mail cares to mention about each party to “inform” all of its German based users in an “unbiased” way about the upcoming general elections:

CDU
Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are not mentioned in the current election program. Dr. Stefan Berger, representing the CDU in the European Parliament, has called for the establishment of a Bitcoin advisory board in Germany. In a motion from December 2023, the CDU/CSU parliamentary group advocated for stricter regulation of cryptocurrencies, including a registration requirement for self-hosted wallets and a ban on crypto mixers.

SPD
Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are also not mentioned in the SPD's election program. In February 2024, Member of the European Parliament Katharina Barley called for the shutdown of crypto platforms that do not take sufficient measures against money laundering, aiming to make the internet safer.

The Greens
Cryptocurrencies are mentioned in the current election program in the context of money laundering, abuse, and crime. Already in the 2021 election program, the Greens associated cryptocurrencies with criminal activities. In 2018, they submitted a minor inquiry in the German parliament on the "Impact of the cryptocurrency 'Bitcoin' on the climate and energy consumption." Sven Giegold, Deputy Federal Chairman, has previously advocated for banning cryptocurrencies with energy-intensive consensus mechanisms, such as Bitcoin.

FDP
The "Liberals" welcome the development of cryptocurrencies. They advocate for the approval of crypto ETFs and are open to the European Central Bank and the German Bundesbank using cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin as currency reserves.

AfD
Bitcoin is welcomed as a competitor in the currency market in their election program. The AfD opposes regulations such as MiCAR and calls for the deregulation of Bitcoin, Bitcoin wallets, and crypto exchanges, as well as maintaining the one-year holding period for tax on profits.

Linke
They demand that money and currencies remain under state sovereignty. Their election program supports the introduction of a digital euro by the ECB and the right to anonymous payments for small transactions.

BSW
There is no mention of Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies. The party wants to invest in future-oriented industries and key sectors, as well as promote open-source software and freely available AI models for science, education, culture, and public administration. Cash should be explicitly preserved.
This summary of the above-mentioned election programs does not constitute an election recommendation.

Basically, “only the AfD supports what we want” type of message. Only sent to their German-based users. Two days before the election.
