During the JUMP FESTA 2024 event, a message written by Gege Akutami was presented, who pointed out that "this would be the last Jump Festa during which Jujutsu Kaisen would be serialized". With this, the author confirmed that the work will end at some point before December 2024, when the next Jump Festa will be held.
This is not the first time that Gege Akutami has made such a statement, as during the Jump Festa 2023 event held in December last year, the author had already indicated his plans to finish the work "starting one year after the date in question." Furthermore, in February 2021 he had said that "the work would be completed in two years from then", neither of which ended up being fulfilled.
The message wrote:
"This is probably the last Jump Festa in which "Jujutsu Kaisen" will be being published. An exhibition of original illustrations will be held next summer. Although it is such an exhibition, "Jujutsu Kaisen" is made with digital manuscripts, how the heck am I going to do something like this? After discussing it with the bosses, we decided to use some materials I have lying around, such as names and drafts, to create an exhibit that people will see and think, "I want to draw manga too!". We are currently doing trial and error on the material among all of us. Keep up the effort! And all of you, please come to the exhibition when it starts!".
