It does bother me because I don't consider myself 'disabled' but deaf. For me, I've never been treated as 'disabled'. Deaf, hell yeah, but people don't equate one with the other. I'm deaf enough to disqualify me from jury duty, and other things. But to me, it's a genetic problem, not a disability. My family never treated me as 'disabled.' Refused to put me in a 'special school' for it, either.
