For the longest time in the 80s, I thought ‘El DeBarge’ was the group… ostensibly ‘The DeBarge’.
Only way later in the early 90s did I understand El was the guy’s name (Eldra), and that was his solo project. The group is just ‘DeBarge’.
Btw, it’s 2024, and El’s voice is still *amazing*.
