I had to remind myself that I am doing this for fun and allow some selfish decisions that do not, at first glance, improve the story.
Prioritizing my enjoyment always improves the story but it can make me feel like I am not taking my writing seriously. So, I have decided to embrace some serious silly.
After all, what story wouldn't be improved by a hidden collection of wax cylinders documenting a paranormal investigation?
