Having lived in a mail-in state for decades, there's an upside for parents rarely talked about. When my two daughters got close to voting age (early aughts) we would fill in my ballot together discussing candidates and ballot initiatives. When they reached 18 they could barely wait to vote and have since been actively engaged in our democracy.

I would say to parents everywhere that you are missing out on an important learning opportunity about civic engagement.
