You may be wondering: why did we decide to make Angor open source?

Initially, we were concerned that others might "steal" our codebase and benefit from our hard work without contributing back. However, we believe these concerns are largely exaggerated because:

1. Most software users prefer to stick to the original source or codebase for its reliability and updates.

2. Users are generally willing to pay for software if it’s reasonably priced and offers value.

3. Copying code isn’t straightforward; it requires a certain level of expertise and effort.

4. Even if others manage to copy and improve the code, everyone benefits — including the original developers, who can adopt those improvements as well.

5. Imposing restrictions on code requires state intervention for enforcement. This creates unnecessary dependencies on authorities, adds liabilities, and limits both the codebase and the developers.

6. Restricting others from using code is morally questionable; sharing fosters innovation and collaboration.
