"content": "The Baby Booms also occurred under capitalism though. Everyone had a baby boom after WW2, even the losers. We had rapid positive population growth at a time when the social safety net was much weaker than it is today.\n\nAlso the negative population thing is common to the USA and UK, more socialist Europe, and Communist China. So it's probably not the level of social safety net.",
