Yeah, and that's why I have a bit of a dim view of the future. Some significant chunk of our family, friends, and neighbors *want* this hell. They're actively voting for it and fueling it. For 10-15 years now. There's no fixing it without unimaginable blood and suffering, for a long, long time. We all still have it very good, with hot showers and antibiotics, and there's no organized resistance of any kind against it. It takes time, a lot of time, organize a resistance. 70 or 80 years, perhaps, which is where my belief in the Strauss-Howe generational theory of history comes in. That's perhaps a topic for another conversation.
