Well, Deutsche Bank just spent *13 years* integrating systems from the acquisition of Postbank. €1B was spent on the first attempt, which failed so badly that DB tried to sell Postbank rather than deal with the problems they had found. They couldn't find a buyer, so they had to kick off another huge project, led by an actual DB board member, which only just ended.
