Long story short I had to have 8" of my Large Intestine removed. This was elective due to recurring bouts of diverticulitis. This should prevent future recurrences and all their attendant risks. Also, they checked the removed section and no cancer was found so that was a bonus.
However, I had a hematoma and got an infection after the operation. Not unusual but still a complication that had to be addressed. So had to be readmitted to the hospital.
I'm out now.
