I disagree. For example I’d be on metformin rather than reversing my diabetes via diet alone. I have also had experience with many of my own patients over the years who cured illness going against their physician’s advice. The most striking example was a patient 20 years ago who was dying of c diff. He had been in the hospital numerous times on ever increasing iv antibiotics, and had lost an extraordinary amount of weight. He read about fecal transplant and asked his doctors if it was a possibility. They all said it was a hoax and even harmful. He had it done by some back alley operation and it cured him. I know of so many stories like this with my patients. Doctors don’t have the time with patients that they used to so it’s important to do your own research and advocate for your own health.
