I'm not a fan of most medical dramas. They're lightweight soap operas. Full of beautiful people, fussing over Sex and the City melodramas, with life and death surgeries thrown in to give them a veneer of gravitas.

The characters in #NewAmsterdam feel like real people, having real human experiences. The writing and the performances make me care deeply about what happens to them, even in the course of a single episode. It's a rare episode that doesn't have me in tears.

Goddamn I love this show.
