New Mexico is now a blue state, but it is marginal by a wide range of livability measures according to U.S. News magazine. In fact, U.S. News Magazine ranks New Mexico 49th of 50 U.S. states in its 2024 Best States rankings, which is not so good. Their consideration of "crime, education, healthcare, natural environment, economy, fiscal stability, infrastructure, and opportunity" put Florida 9th, Texas 29th, and California 37th in their rankings of large warm states that I viewed. Obviously there are issues like support for the arts, civil liberties, and equity that are not included in the U.S. News rankings. (3/6)
