there is a sound that only 2% of the population can hear, which is around 30-40hz, and it is quite prevalent and has been reported around the world

i'm very sensitive to sounds between 14-17khz but maybe i'm just barely in the 2% who can hear the subbass sounds, maybe sometimes i hear it when it's really loud

but it's fascinating

and notable that 50hz is the lowest frequency most people can hear, and this sound can be picked up by a simple coil of suitable dimensions that will catch the sound of your electricity, 60hz for us and much of asia, 50hz for everyone else in europe

40hz is hard to hear for most people but down at 30hz most people at most just can feel it if it's loud enough

there is a constant vibration from our planet, and the lower the frequency, the more of it can be detected, in fact there is vibrations in the sub-second range that are VERY frequent even in the most remote places away from the machines of humans
