My husband respects my personal freedoms and choices but never calls me a hypocrite when I put expectations of traditional gender roles on him. He lets me design what it means to be to be a woman/wife/mother. I appreciate this so much because what I want tends to change as I change roles/get older. He views me as an individual person and doesn't make any assumptions about what I will bring to the relationship. We decide what makes sense for us as a partnership and we pick and choose what we each contribute to our union.
