There is disability stigma that presumes disabled people cannot achieve high levels of career success or obtain positions of power.
I feel this from time to time at my workplace, as very few disabled people (especially physically disabled) hold meaningful positions of power in big banks.
This reality has been a chip on my shoulder since I was paralyzed in high school. I want to be the best not only for personal reasons but also because I want to prove to everyday people that disabled people can fucking kill it.
That we aren’t helpless. That we don’t want your sympathy. That we can provide for our ourselves and our family.
That we are fucking badass killers.
