I was born there. I didn’t grow up there but I still go back to see family. Many in my family went to that high school. I was there back in September and it was the first time I noticed the Haitians. I never saw them in any number before. I thought it was odd but moved on.
Then I started to see the reports about how they were being dumped there for cheap labor. Truly a shame. The borough has been a dead place since the 90s when the steel mill closed. It’s sad to see this on top of the mess.
