the scp foundation is mostly interesting as a record of the complexes americans have about their own government: maybe it does massively unethical things in secret, maybe those things are justified b/c it's protecting the public from something worse, maybe it's accountable to noöne & running on autopilot, maybe it's kind of cool and badass actually, maybe the reason you don't have healthcare or up to date schoolbooks is all the funds go into building secret bases, etc
