this has come up in a couple chats recently, so it's time to remind old readers and tell new readers: your interest and your interaction are critical to the success of Surfhosting.
how & why? well, because my brain doesn't quite work like many brains do (call it #ADHD, #autism, or what have you) and in fact I am 100% capable of very easily forgetting that projects, routines, and habits all exist, unless I "naturally" think of them somehow, or am reminded.
a few years ago, and a few times since, I sat down & brainstormed which of my project ideas had "natural" "stickiness," so that I could choose to focus on those while living with constant overstimulation, knowing that I'd eventually come back to them if I forgot them for a while, which correlates with long-term success.
Surfhosting is such a project with natural stickiness. as long as I live a nomadic life with very little money, I will eventually remember the project.
later on, I brainstormed again on how to raise the stickiness of the projects I'm pursuing. and because I know that having a social element with people I like & respect is a huge stickiness bonus for me, I set up the social media for Surfhosting before I had (have) anything else to show.
just being on here blabbering about my ideas and boosting relevant links keeps the project fresh in my mind, when I otherwise could easily get distracted. but even more important, the *interaction* from you all is a huge morale boost, and great encouragement to continue no matter how long it takes! and I need a lot of that. so thank you all!
