In an episode of the 1960s show "Bewitched", when Darrin and Samantha have been married about 6 months, Darrin hurts his ankle and in an effort to make things easier on him (and herself) with him stuck at home incapacitated, she gives him the ability to do witchcraft to help. He objects at first, and her mother Endora warns her that she's asking for trouble. Pretty soon, Darrin is vastly enjoying these abilities, quits his advertising job, and tells Samantha he's retiring now so they can spend all their time together.
Samantha realizes that Endora was right, and plots to convince Darrin that there's too much of a good thing.
When he tells Samantha that they're going on a trip around the world, Samantha suggests that there's no need, she could just implant the memories of a trip in their brains -- so much easier than actually dealing with a real trip.
