I wanted to mock Captain Toad's cowardice, but after a closer inspection, those are airships suspended in space with two black holes close by and he is just a toad.
It's actually quite ominous the more I look at it.
Lucky for the good guys, Mario lacks that part of the brain that lets one feel fear.
