They’re a few years old, which means they’ve mostly stabilized, and while they do require an app to configure things (I can’t think of any recent ones that don’t require an app), it’s pretty stable. You also need to create an online account, but the only reason for that is so the things can check for updated firmware, as near as I can tell.",
