Kalle Kniivilä (nprofile…3p3s) I think the conflict between Trump and Putin is inevitable for many reasons and hopefully it stays under the table. He seems to be wooing Putin right now but I doubt it will last once decision making point is reached.
The strategy seems to be to get Ukraine on board first (as they have more influence with them) and when the US and Ukraine are in alignment (and then the EU will follow) this will be used to press Kremlin into some kind of deal: "here, look, we have this prepared and ready, take it or else"
