I live in rural American, outside our county seat on a small acreage hobby farm. We have three health systems serving our extended region, the expected Catholic hospital, the local non-profit regional medical center with 3 hospitals, and our Federally Qualified Healthcare system. All three are failing me at the moment, in a big way. It’s a terrible shame the condition our health care delivery system is in; and for me, a very painful experience. 3 months of pinched nerve pain to be specific. It’s like passing a kidney stone, I know, I’ve done that too. And there is a fix for this, ever out of my reach as I jump through intermediate mandated treatments, none of which has worked, to qualify for the final fix. And my providers are all so blasé about my pain, dismissing my repeated attempts to inform them of my status and impart some sense of urgency. Now, they’re all on vacation for weeks. I was an RN years ago, a senior one in admin & ed, and I swear it wasn’t this bad then. #healthcare #medicine #rant
