I agree with this take. On the positive side though, I would add that countries implementing capital controls typically are the most aggressive with them DURING the period of currency devaluation. Once the devaluation is done, there is less motivation to attack "currency speculators" (aka wealth protectors) and it would likely become less hostile because the major wealth transfer has already been completed.
So I think its best to assume there may be a decade where you need to lose your keys in a boating accident but I doubt it would last forever.
