I found it interesting while #teaching yesterday that #disability discrimination was a useful starting point for explaining why a "colorblind" approach to racism has major problems. (Usually the analogy between these two goes the opposite direction.)
Students "got it" that interventions like disability accommodations are critical—one can't simply "ignore away" disability and expect equity! This helped them start to see why one also can't "ignore away" racial categories while expecting equity.
