The bulk of the housework is now done, with the Husband and the Resident Son. Son seems genuinely unable to notice cobwebs when given the long-handled duster and instructed to do the ceilings etc.

Husband is at the other end of the scale when it comes to thorough. At least we didn't get a repeat of the notorious incident when he started 'a quick tidy of the lounge before people start arriving' by alphabetising the CDs... A free and frank exchange of views followed that.
