I got an email today. Someone asking me to prove CoffeeGeek is "the world's most read coffee and espresso resource", like we say at the top of every page. Figured maybe I should answer it here instead.
At the height of the website's popularity, we were getting almost 1.4 million unique visitors a month. Well over 3.5 million total visitors, per month. That was back in the heyday of pre-reddit, pre-facebook times. Up until around 2013 or so we were enjoying an annual total visitor count of 35 million visitors.
Of course, many of them were heavy repeat visitors, checking out our forums multiple times a day, etc.
But even today, we get about 450K unique visitors a month, and well over a million total visitor count. Here's Cloudfare's most recent 7 day chart (way more accurate than Google Analytics)
So, yeah, unless I'm proved different, I think the roughly 600 million total visitors we've had in our 23 years online qualifies as "the world's most read coffee and espresso resource". 🤓
