At some point in the past, my ancestors left their land for a variety of reasons. Our stories tell us that the two biggest reasons were for food, and to avoid being swallowed up by hostile and powerful neighbours. My wife's family did the same.

It is not cowardly, or weak, and you do not have to give up your principles, or hope, to seek out places that are more aligned with what you believe in. Mobility rights are inherent and are necessary for us to be free. Once, I left a hostile, dark place, with little hope, and I know I will have to do it again. I was sad for those who didn't, who couldn't, or believed that they had a chance to survive in that place. The world is still big enough for us to create the world we want, in the world that is theirs. When we do, it will be a light. We will leave a map.
