If you continuously rail against climate and nature protection, call necessary policies "overregulation", "intrusive" and "ideologically driven", if you promise technology and markets will somehow magically fix what they caused. If you don't invite scientists to your talkshows but only political pundits.

Then don't be surprised. But history will not be kind to you.
