This is the classic, almost cliche, view of the 59th Street Bridge. The same vantage point, at 58th Street just east of Sutton Place, was used in Woody Allen's exceptionally problematic (but still beautifully photographed) Manhattan.
But this once pristine view is becoming increasingly cluttered as development on Roosevelt Island continues. I remember once having a clear view from here of the Big Allis power plant, whose smokestacks are still barely visible above the high rise apartments.
