What I currently have available are: a Macbook that's a few years old, and a several-year-old Chromebook that has a touch screen. I'm willing to spend, say, up to $300 on a combo of hardware/software necessary to make this work, with my basic “works well on Zoom calls" headset microphone option.
Is this a plausible budget for what seems, from my naive perspective, an obvious setup that must already exist in mature form? And if so, what should I get?
