Some Hungarian LPs from my father Cliff’s collection from
Videoton in Budapest when he was the UK representative selling Minimax loudspeakers in the 1970’s and 1980’s from his company Perdix Components Ltd.
This was my fathers second business success, so much so that both MI5 and Hungarian intelligence attempted to recruit him to spy for each other.
He declined both, as far as I know, and ended up selling a lot of different Videoton products attempting to open up the west for them.
Not least were mainframe computers based on Bull Mitre architecture.
I learned to operate one called a VT6000, which had it's OS in French, hardware documentation in Hungarian and COBOL compiler documented in German. Not a easy task at all.
