If this hold in the election (by no means a sure thing) then we’re in for an odd time. The Icelandic left usually only has about a third to 40% of the vote. So the very few times it has managed to form a gov it’s always had to pick a right wing or nationalist party as a coalition partner and, as you can imagine, this has always been a bit of a devil’s bargain. This election is unlikely to be different in this regard.
The question is, which devil will the left be dancing with?
