I have submitted not one but TWO doctoral funding application this morning! I feel wrung out from the intensity!
No. 1 is to get funding to stay in my current department and be supervised by my current line manager on a project related to breastfeeding and medication prescribing for perinatal mental illness. No. 2 - a project with a topic and vague methodology but plenty of scope to put my own stamp on things. It’s been devised by a collaboration of supervisors from two English universities and a museum director, using arts based methods and a participatory approach to working with young victims of forced migration. It would only pay a PhD stipend (half the above salary). It may mean we have to relocate, but I’m quite keen on doing so anyway as I would like to be much closer to our imminent grandchildren.
It’s all very exciting and scary!
