Emphasizing STEM worked a little too well, we can and should cut back on emphasizing the T in STEM.
We focused on the hard sciences and maths a little too well, and now we have too many of them. As a person pursuing coding for a living, it's really scary to see that the big tech giants just laid off tens of thousands of experienced workers, who I'm going to be competing with in a few years.
We need to stop flooding the tech job market with coders, because I have a feeling that digital automation is going to make that market a lot smaller soon.
